The manufacturing of plastic molds is extremely complex, and with the progress of industrial technology, it is very important to improve production efficiency and reduce the loss of parts and materials. The current mold forming technology is widely used in automobile, household goods, digital electronics and other industries. Whether the mold material has good performance determines the length of the service life of the mold, as well as the appearance quality and production efficiency of the molded parts. For different working conditions and environmental reasons, mold materials are not the same.
At present, the use of a wide range of cold work mold materials in the industry is larger, for the performance of the requirements of strength, hardness, toughness and wear resistance, so most of the cold work mold materials are steel.
First, carbon tool steel is a more commonly used material in the early days, but due to the cost-effective and better performance of other steels, the proportion of use of carbon tool steel is gradually declining.
Second, high carbon alloy steel is the main material of cold work mold, toughness is relatively low in performance, but the strength and wear resistance are very high, which belongs to the heat treatment strengthening type of steel, so it is also the choice of material for most molds.
Third, low alloy cold work die steel, suitable for small batch production of simple mold, to withstand the impact of Jiaoxiong's master mold.
Fourth, in the case of higher comprehensive mechanical properties of the mold, high-speed steel and matrix steel are more suitable commonly used alternative steels.
